The Role

The primary role as Sales Manager is to develop and disseminate key value propositions to drive group wide sales initiatives to customers in Asia including but not exclusive to L band product offering, VSAT, and M2M solutions. In addition, you are to manage the adoption and assimilation of new products and services relevant to AST’s business focus into key verticals/segments as agreed to by your manager. 

Your main responsibilities will include;

  • Meet sales and development targets.
  • Establish new and maintain existing relations with customers.
  • Initiate workshops with top-tier customers ensuring collaboration between departments to avoid duplication of efforts.
  • Visit potential clients to develop a more intimate relationships and a better understand their needs and wants.
  • Showcase to our customers - solutions, products, and services which best suit their needs.
  • Prepare quotations for customers under your responsibility.

 

 

  • Negotiate tender and contract terms and support other team members as required with the completion of a formal response by AST. 
  • Offer after-sales support services to our valued customers.
  • Support debt collection of managed customers to ensure that our debtors ledger does not fall beyond 30-45 days in arrears.
  • Prepare reports which may be required to fulfil existing management reports, i.e top sales, top customers, development requests to improve our systems and support.
  • Record and maintain client information within our CRM.
  • Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
  • Ensure continual training and improvement of product knowledge through internal training and self-training initiatives via both AST and external resources.
  • Work closely with regional offices to ensure that skills and process improvement are shared amongst your fellow counterparts.

Candidates should have a high level of self-motivation and a strong drive to learn and continue to learn and develop in the future. You will have the willingness to adapt to varying demands of the role throughout our busy periods.
