The Intellian C700 is the latest terminal for use with the fully global **Iridium Certus** service. The C700 delivers out-of-the-box downlink speeds up to 704 Kbps and uplink speeds up to 352 Kbps, with low-elevation-angle RF efficiency thanks to its unique 12-patch phased array antenna technology. It will support three high-quality, low-latency phone lines simultaneously; and as a solid-state antenna with no moving parts inside, the C700 is especially robust, requiring no scheduled maintenance over its lifetime (minimum 10-year operational lifetime).

Push-to-talk (PTT)

Safety radio is essential life-saving equipment that, under the safety of life at sea convention, vessels are required to have onboard.

The global maritime distress safety system (GMDSS) minimum requirement is to have at least two handheld VHF handsets and at least one VHF digital selective calling (DSC) hardware onboard in order to raise a signal. The further a vessel travels into far-reaching sea areas the more safety at sea equipment is needed.

There is little, if any, control over the actual time a crew member spends on the telephone and there can be problems defining and chasing users for payment, especially when there are frequent crew changes. 

The AST Short Access Code (SAC) prepaid crew calling service separates business and crew usage simply and effectively. Users can purchase a SAC voucher/PIN, which can be used to make calls from the vessels FB handset.
