The HALO Trust | Iridium Extreme PTT

On Saturday 23rd June 2018 AST Networks and Iridium provided satellite communications to The HALO Trust for their sponsored Walk for Syria. Over 250 people joined making it a truly memorable day, raising over £75,000 to keep vulnerable families safe in war-torn Syria.

The challenging 30km walk through the beautiful countryside of Dumfries & Galloway covered some of the most dramatic scenery within the UK. Starting from The HALO Trust HQ near Thornhill then taking a circular route through the remote foothills of the Lowther Hills where mobile phone signal is limited or non-existent.

Their generosity enabled us to keep in contact with other members of the group, and in the event of an emergency call for help, even in the most remote parts of the walk!”
