AST apprenticeship programme is shaping future leaders and technology experts

7/7/23

AST is proud to announce that Ethan Gray, Technical Support Advisor Apprentice, has received top marks for his Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship from City College Norwich, Paston College and Easton College.

The apprenticeship is part of AST’s mission to foster exciting young talent in the industry. It provides the transferrable skills, knowledge and behaviours required to successfully work in the digital sector.

Our aim is to meet the need for regional skills required by IT Technicians in the local area. The apprenticeship provides an entry point into the digital sector from which apprentices can choose to gain professional body recognition, go on to further study or progress their careers in the workplace.

The course is intended to meet the standard required for endpoint assessment and create apprentices prepared for modern working life within the sector. This is achieved through knowledge modules in college, which are then applied in the workplace to build skills.

Ethan Gray embarked on his apprenticeship journey two years ago. A dedicated and hardworking individual, he expressed gratitude to AST for providing him with a transformative learning experience:

"The Information Communication Technician apprenticeship at AST has been an incredible opportunity to develop my skills and gain practical knowledge in the field. I am grateful for the guidance and support I have received from my mentors and colleagues, and am eager to continue contributing to AST's technological advancements."

At the AST Group, we are proud to provide opportunities for the next generation of industry leaders through our career development programme and help bridge the skills gap.

Joe Hounslow, AST Service Delivery Manager, said, "Ethan has worked hard to complete his apprenticeship to a very high standard. I am very proud of Ethan, who has put a lot of effort into his studies. At the same time, he has been very impressive carrying out his work duties. Well done Ethan – you fully deserve a Distinction and keep up the good work."

Our apprentices are the future of The AST Group. We can't wait to see what they will achieve. If you're interested in pursuing a career in this exciting industry, please see our vacancies.
